INSME Annual Meetings
Once a year, in collaboration with a co-host organisation, the INSME members meet to discuss and decide about issues related to the life of the network and about potential future activities to be possibly developed among the members of the Association.
The meeting, which is held indicatively between April and July of each year, represents one of the main highlights of the yearly activities of the INSME Association and it is composed of 3 or 4 day event, comprising the INSME Board Meeting and General Assembly, an International Conference and Innovation Tours. In 2015, the 11th INSME annual Meeting was held from the 26th to the 28th of May in Cape Town, South Africa. The 12th INSME Annual Meeting was held from the 12th to the 14th of April 2016 at Doha, Qatar. The appointment with the 13th INSME Annual Meeting on “Improving Productivity in SMEs and Their Role in Global Value Chains” co-organized with INADEM will be in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from the 15th to the 17th of May 2017. The INSMEAcademy is a webinar-based training programme offering one seminar per month addressing Innovation Management, Strategic Partnerships, Entrepreneurial Spirit and Creativity. Through a user-friendly platform participants have the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of high-level experts and to share ideas on innovation related topics with peers from all over the world.
Capacity Building Initiatives
Tailor-made on-demand Training Programs enabling INSME Members to refine proper skills in a variety of sectors and topics through a customized training structure and teaching methodology.
The service has been kicked off in June 2015 with a five-days intensive training on "The Italian Entrepreneurial Model", designed for a group of 32 branch leaders from the The National Entrepreneurship Institute - Riyadah.
Joint International Training Programmes:
Consisting of a 3 to 4 day thematic module, held at regional level (continent or sub-continent). These programmes deal with SME innovation and technology transfer related issues and are aimed at strengthening public and private intermediaries’ staff skills. Most training sessions are conceived in a “train the trainers” format and are not targeted in particular at entrepreneurs. In 2016, the INSME Secretariat in collaboration with Qatar Development Bank (INSME Board Member) and within the framework of the 12th INSME Annual Meeting, organised the following International Training Programme:
- Design Thinking for Innovation in Practice
– an Effective Toolkit to Manage Competitiveness held on the 14th of April 2016 in Doha, Qatar.
A monthly newsletter keeping readers updated on the life of the Network, current innovation trends, funding opportunities, global initiatives and event with regards to knowledge and technology transfer. The newsletter is currently distributed to over 19,000 readers from all over the world and is also issued in Spanish thanks to the collaboration received from the De Tullio & Partners (INSME Board Member).
A virtual window to share and discuss ideas, hints, projects and your vision on innovation. The blog attracts more than 600 readers per month and welcomes contributions on innovation-related topics.
