- Research and Technological Development comprises creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of knowledge, including knowledge of man, culture and society, and the use of this stock of knowledge to devise new applications. R&D is a term covering 3 activities: basic research, applied research, and experimental development.
- Responsible Partnering
- An initiative intended to improve the effectiveness of joint research and knowledge transfer activities involving Public Research Organizations (PRO) and Companies by means of a voluntary program.
Responsible Partnering addresses situations in which participants from the public and private sectors make significant contributions to the eventual success of joint projects. In adhering to Responsible Partnering, PROs and Companies recognize that their interests interact and establish procedures that enable them to work together effectively.
